1 Kaliyuga = 100 years on Jupiter's North Pole!
Time calculation has been an integral research theme of Indian Civilization. Ancient Indian scholars have written thousands of books on this topic. Ancient Indian research on time calculation is considered as very detailed and most accurate around the world. Indians believe in cyclic nature of time which says that universe creation and distruction happens in cyclic manner after perticular period of time. These cycles of universe creation and distruction are very long and time taken to complete one cycle is very huge. One complete cycle of creation and distruction is called Chaturyuga. Word Chaturyuga consists of two words Chatuh +Yuga which means 4 Yugas. Yuga is the smallest measure of cosmic time calculation in Indian civilization.
Chaturyuga consists four yugas, Satyayuga, Tretayuga, Dwaparyuga and Kaliyuga. Out of these 4 yugas, Kaliyuga has smallest time duration. Time duration of Kaliyuga is considered as 4,32,000 human years. Dwaparyuga is considered twice as much of Kaliyuga which has time duration 8,64,000 human years. Tretayug is considered as trice as much of Kaliyuga which has time duration of 12,96,000 human years. Satyayuga is considered as four times as much of Kaliyuga which has time duration of 17,28,000 human years. Total duration of Chaturyuga is considered as 43,20,000 human years.
- As per Veda's and Purana's, one human year is considered as one complete day of Devta's. In one human year Earth's axis completes one circle. In first half of this circle, Northern hemisphere of Earth moves close to Sun which is called as "Uttarayan" in Veda's and Purana's. In second half of this circle, Southern hemisphere of earth moves close to Sun which is called as "Daskshinayan" in Veda's and Purana's.
- During Uttarayan days start getting longer and night's in Northern Hemisphere. During Dakshinayan days start getting shorter than night's in Northern Hemisphere. One human year consists of one Uttarayan plus one Dakshinayan.
- In Veda's and Purana's, Uttarayan is considered as day time of Devtas and Dakshinayan is considered as night time of Devtas.
- Devta's are natural (cosmic) powers like Pruthvi (Earth), Agni (Fire), Jal (Water), Vayu (Air), Aakash (Space). As life of humans is very much dependent on these natural powers, change in natural cycle of these natural powers is celebrated and welcomed.
But did you ever wondered how is this time duration calculated?
Lets try to decode logic behind this time calculation. We all know that one complete day is of 24 hours which consists of a day and a night. As most of the human population lives near equator we observe length of day and night to be approximately 12 hours. But if this is this phenomenon obseved across the globe?
Let's see. Let's consider the case of the North Pole. At the North Pole Sun rises once in a year and Sun can be seen above horizon for 6 months at a stretch. Similarly, night can be observed for 6 months at a stretch at North Pole. So, a complete day at the North Pole of the Earth is around 360 civil days approximately (if we consider 30 days month then civil year is approximately 360 civil days).
When observed from Earth's surface, Sun takes approximately 360 days to complete one revolution around our stellar sphere. Similarly, planet Jupiter takes approximately 12 years to complete one revolution around our stellar sphere. The fact is planet Jupiter takes approximately 12 years to complete 1 rotation around the Sun.
So, as observed in the case of Earth's North Pole, a complete day at Jupiter's North Pole would be of 12 human years! The length of year is 360 days approximately. In that case, 1 year at the Jupiter's Noth Pole would be 12 multiplied by 360 i.e 4320 human years!
If we try to calculate 100 years at Jupiter's North Pole it would be 4,32,000 human years.
But did you notice that legth of 1 Kaliyuga is also 4,32,000 human years! So, 1 Chaturyuga is equal to 1000 years at Jupiter's North Pole i.e 43,20,000 human years.
Isn't this interesting that calculation of Yugas on the Earth has some connection with planet Jupiter's North Pole!
