Happy International Yoga Day 2020 to everyone, Stay Fit, Stay Safe and Stay Healthy!

The world has changed a lot since the celebration of last International Yoga Day. Since we entered the year 2020, we have witnessed a lot of new challenges like natural calamities, Coronavirus outbreak, economic issues, etc. But out of all these challenges, healthcare challenges that emerged with the outbreak of Coronavirus are the biggest challenge world is facing today.

As the Corona pandemic spread across the globe, people started adopting new health measures like washing hands frequently, covering face with a mask, social distancing, etc. to stay healthy and to contain the spread of the virus. Along with these measures W.H.O also recommended people take necessary steps to improve their immunity. These measures include daily indoor exercise, Yoga, eating fruits, etc.

Along with these measures, some of the Indian traditional practices gained popularity across the globe like saying Namaste, Yoga Asanas, Pranayama, Ayurveda, etc. Today, these easy but effective and healthy Indian practices are helping the global population to fight the Corona pandemic.

Namaste for Social Distancing

The ancient Indian tradition of saying "Namaste" and joining palms of both the hands together while greeting people gained popularity across the globe. This practice helped people to greet each other while maintaining social distancing.
This is not only the best way to each other during the Corona pandemic but the "Namaste" pose is one of the Yogic poses which helps us to improve our concentration and perform our daily duties more effectively.

Yoga for physical fitness

Daily practice of Yoga helps us to improve our overall fitness. Many people started performing Yoga Asanas daily during their homestay due to lockdowns across the globe. This helped them to achieve mental fitness along with physical fitness.

Pranayama for mental and emotional well being

Due to the spread of Coronavirus, many countries implemented lockdowns to contain the spread of Coronavirus. Many people got stuck in their homes for many days which started impacting their mental and emotional health. Many people got stuck away from their family members and they were worried of the safety of their loved ones. This situation increased the mental and emotional stress of the people of all ages.

Many people started performing Pranayama daily to reduce mental and emotional stress. Pranayama is considered as the best technique to achieve control over our own emotions. This helps us maintain our mental well being.

Ayurvedic medicines for improving immunity

Many medical research labs are trying to develop a vaccine to cure Corona patients, but still, they are not successful in developing the vaccine. Currently the only way to defend ourselves from Coronavirus is to improve our immunity.
Many Ayurvedic medicines and herbs like Tulsi, Amla, etc. are considered as best immunity boosters. Many people started consuming Ayurvedic medicines daily to improve their immunity. Along, with these many Ayurvedic practices like drinking hot water, etc. helped people to boost their immunity.

International Yoga Day 2020 gives us new hope and a message that Yoga and Yogic practices should be made part of our daily life to maintain our physical and mental health. The combination of Namaste, Yoga, Pranayama ,and Ayurveda will surely help us fight the Corona pandemic successfully.
